Pettify is our app. Here is how we compared.
We make Pettify, which reminds you about medicines as part of a pet’s care plan. Several apps below do nothing but medication and describe it in more detail. We used only what each developer publishes in the US App Store and on its own website, listed the apps alphabetically, and put what Pettify lacks, such as refill reminders, in the same table.
A medication reminder has to fit the schedule your vet gives you: twice a day for ten days, every morning for life, or once a month for flea and tick prevention. It should also make it obvious whether today’s dose was given, especially when two people share the job. Here are eight apps compared on exactly that, from free and one-time purchases to subscriptions.
Quick picks
Labels, not a ranking. Each points to the app whose published features fit that need best, in our judgement.
Several times a day, chosen weekdays or every few days, weeks or months; “Mark as Given” and “Snooze” on the notification, and an optional second reminder.
Medicine reminders in the pet’s care plan, quiet on other phones once someone ticks the dose off, next to vaccinations, vet visits and lab results.
How we compared
We checked every app on 17 Oct 2026. Prices, in-app purchases, ratings, the date of the latest version and the number of languages come from each app’s page in the US App Store. Features come from the App Store description and, where the table says “Website”, the developer’s own site; Android availability comes from Google Play. Prices are in US dollars.
We searched the US App Store for “pet medication reminder”, “pet pill reminder” and “pet meds tracker”. We kept apps made for pet medicines, including new ones with few or no ratings, added broader pet apps whose descriptions name medication reminders, and Pettify. Pill reminders for people and pharmacy apps are not included.
We did not install these apps. A “Yes” is what the developer states; “Not stated” means we did not find it in the description or on the website, and the app may still have it. “No” appears only in Pettify’s column, because we know our own app (version 1.2.0, the release with the pee and poop log). Several apps here are new and have few or no ratings, so there is little user feedback on them yet.
The apps are listed alphabetically, with no overall score, and the quick picks are our judgement. None of these apps says it works out a dose, and Pettify does not: the dose and the schedule come from your vet. We drafted this page with AI assistance from the sources linked in each card and checked every price, rating and feature against them.
Side by side
Price and platforms first, then schedules, dose records, sharing and records. Under each “Yes” is where the developer says it.

Good to know

With Dynamic Island on, the next task stays on the Lock Screen and can be ticked off there.
Medicines prescribed at a vet visit are recorded inside that visit, and the PDF report for the vet includes the care plan and recent activity.

“Mark as Done” in a notification only closes the reminder; to record the dose, tick the task off in the app or on the Lock Screen.

It depends on the schedule and who gives the doses. For complex schedules logged from the notification, TailCare. For two people sharing the doses, PetPill. To pay once, MediPaw or PipDose. For free, The Pack by Zoetis or GreatPetCare. For medicines next to vaccinations and vet visits on Apple devices, Pettify, which is our app.
Is there a free pet medication reminder app?
Yes. GreatPetCare and The Pack by Zoetis list no in-app purchases. TailCare, MediPaw and PetPill are free for one pet and one medication, PipDose has free basics, and AllTails Care is free for one person and one pet. Pettify has no free version: $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial.
How do we avoid giving the same dose twice?
Use an app that shares the doses. PetPill says that once one person logs a dose, everyone else’s reminder goes quiet and the history shows who gave it. Pettify works the same way for a task in the care plan. MediPaw and GreatPetCare describe sharing too. TailCare describes iCloud sync between your own iPhone and iPad; sharing with another person is not mentioned.
Can these apps remind me about monthly flea, tick and heartworm treatments?
TailCare names monthly flea treatments and schedules every few weeks or months; PetPill goes up to every few months; Pettify repeats a reminder monthly or yearly. Which product to use and how often is a question for your vet.
Will an app tell me the right dose?
None of them says so. These apps describe keeping what you enter, and TailCare, PipDose and MediPaw say they are tracking tools that do not replace a vet’s advice, and Pettify does not work out doses or check one medicine against another. The dose comes from your vet and the label.
Why does Pettify compare itself with other apps?
Because we make Pettify and people ask how its reminders compare. We say so at the top, list the apps alphabetically, and show its weak points in the same table: no refill reminders, “Mark as Done” in a notification does not record the dose, Apple devices only, no free version and 3 ratings.
