Dog Potty Tracker App: a Pee and Poop Log for Dogs and Cats
Pettify keeps a pee and poop log for your dog or cat: one tap in the pet’s profile or on a walk, or ask Siri and the entry is saved without opening the app. The log shows how many times a day, a chart and plain hints such as “No poop for 2 days”, and everyone you share the pet with sees each entry.
$4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial · iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro
What one entry can hold
A tap saves pee or poop for now. When the details matter, open the form: these are its fields, in the app’s words.
- What
- Pee, Poop or both.
- When
- The date and time.
- Where
- Outdoors, Litter box, Pee pad, Indoors (accident) or Other.
- Urine
- The amount: little, usual or a lot.
- Stool
- The consistency: hard, normal, soft or liquid.
- Warning signs
- Blood in stool, mucus, black stool, worms, undigested food, blood in urine, straining, frequent small amounts, strong odour, unusual colour, vomiting too, lethargic.
- Note
- Anything else, in your own words.
How it works
Tap Pee or Poop
In the Toilet section of your dog’s or cat’s profile, tap Pee or Poop and the entry is saved. Press and hold for both at once or for the form. The same buttons sit on the live walk screen during a walk.
Or ask Siri
Ask Siri to log pee or poop and the entry is saved in the background, without opening Pettify. Siri answers with the pet, what was logged and the time, and asks which pet if you have several. On the Home Screen, press and hold the app icon for Pee and Poop.
Read the log
All Entries shows a 7, 30 or 90-day summary, a bar chart of pee and poop per day, the entries by day and hints such as “No poop for 2 days” or “No pee for a day”. Hints come from your own entries.
What you get
House-training you can see
Mark where it happened: outdoors, on a pee pad or indoors as an accident. The summary counts indoor accidents for the period, and a hint says so when this week has at least three and more than the week before.
No double entries
Tap again within a minute and Pettify asks before saving a second entry, so a hurried double tap doesn’t count twice.
The family sees every entry
Entries are shared with everyone the pet is shared with and show up in Recent Activity. The family gets a push only for an entry with a warning sign, not for every walk. A view-only member sees entries but can’t add any.
Ready for the vet
The PDF report has a “Toilet” block for the last 30 days: pee and poop per day, indoor accidents and entries with warning signs. Share it straight from the app, for example with your vet clinic.
Ask about a hint
“Ask AI” on a hint opens the assistant with the question already filled in. The assistant sees the last 7 days of the log and gives guidance, not a diagnosis.
What the pee and poop log doesn’t do
Better to know before you download:
Hints are not a diagnosis
Hints follow simple rules over your entries, and the app says plainly that they don’t replace a veterinary examination. If something worries you, call your vet.
No reminders to go out
The log records what happened. It doesn’t tell you when the next trip outside is due, and there is no widget, nothing on the Lock Screen and no Apple Watch app.
No photos or spreadsheets
You can’t attach a photo of the stool, and the log can’t be exported as a spreadsheet. It goes into the PDF report instead.
Siri logs your own pets only
Siri and the app icon log only pets in your own account and need you to be signed in. For a pet someone shares with you, add entries in the app, which takes edit access.
Dogs and cats, on Apple devices
The log is there for dogs and cats only. Pettify runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18 or later, on Macs with Apple silicon and on Apple Vision Pro. There is no Android app.
What it costs
The download is free, the app is not. Pettify runs on a Pettify Premium subscription: $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial first. There is no free tier. You can cancel anytime in your App Store settings. Prices are for the US App Store and may differ in your country.

Questions about the pee and poop log
Can I use it to house-train a puppy?
As a record, yes. Log each trip outside and mark indoor accidents: the summary and the chart show how the days go, and everyone at home logs in one place. How to train is up to you and your trainer or vet.
Does it work for cats?
Yes. The log is there for dogs and cats, and a cat’s places include the litter box. An entry made by Siri or from the app icon is filed as outdoors for a dog and as litter box for a cat.
What do I say to Siri?
Ask Siri to log pee or poop in Pettify. The app adds three shortcuts, Log pee, Log poop and Log toilet, which you also find in the Shortcuts app. With several pets and no name, Siri asks which pet.
Can I show the log to my vet?
Yes. The PDF report from your pet’s profile has a “Toilet” block for the last 30 days, and you can share it straight from the app.
Bringing a puppy or kitten home?
The free printable checklists cover the first weeks, from the toilet spot or litter tray to the first vet visit.
