Dog and Cat Medication Reminder App for iPhone, iPad and Mac

Pettify reminds you when your dog or cat is due a pill, ear drops or a monthly treatment, and you tick the dose off once it’s given. If several people look after the pet, everyone sees that it’s done, so nobody gives it twice.

What medication reminders look like

  • Pettify app - Calendar with today’s care tasks, two of them ticked off

    The day’s care, with times

The calendar lists today’s tasks at the times you set. Ticked tasks are crossed out, so you see at once what is still to do.

  • Pettify app - A care plan task with a Mark as done button and its schedule

    Mark it done

Open a task to mark it done or to change how often and when it comes up.

  • Pettify app - Household screen with members and the Recent Activity feed

    Who did what

The household feed shows who ticked off which task and when, so nobody has to text to ask whether the dog got its pill.

How it works

  1. Add the medicine

Record the medicines prescribed at a vet visit inside that visit. To be reminded of a course, add it to your pet’s care plan as your own task and set how often and when you give it. For a single dose or a recheck, set a one-off reminder in the calendar.

  2. Get the reminder, tick it off

Turn on the task’s reminder. Its notification has “Mark as Done” and, for when the dose has to wait, “Snooze for an hour”. When the dose is given, tick the task off in the app, or from the Lock Screen if you turn on Dynamic Island.

  3. Share it with whoever helps

Invite family by email or QR code. Once someone ticks the dose off, its reminder stays quiet on the other phones, and the others get a notification that it’s done.

What you get

  • Reminders that repeat

A reminder fires once or repeats daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and a daily one can come several times a day, at the times you give the medicine. Change how often and when as the vet adjusts the course, or switch the task off when it ends.

  • One dose, not two

When a task is ticked off on one phone, its reminder stays quiet on the others. Two people can share the mornings without giving the same pill twice.

  • A record of who gave it

Everyone in the household gets a notification when someone else logs care, and the activity feed keeps who did what and when.

  • Tick it off from the Lock Screen

With Dynamic Island on, the next care task stays on your Lock Screen, and you can tick it off without opening the app.

  • The rest of the health record next to it

Vaccinations, vet visits, weight and lab results live in the same pet profile. The PDF report for the vet includes the care plan and recent activity.

What medication reminders don’t do

Better to know before you download:

  • No doses, no prescriptions

A reminder keeps what you type in. Pettify doesn’t work out a dose, write a prescription or check one drug against another. The dose and the schedule come from your vet and the label.

  • No pill count or refill alerts

The app doesn’t count the pills left or remind you to reorder. If you need that, set a separate reminder for the day the pack runs out.

  • Not linked to your vet or pharmacy

Prescriptions don’t arrive in the app on their own. You add each medicine yourself.

  • Reminders need notifications on

A reminder is a notification on your device. If notifications for Pettify are turned off in Settings, it won’t appear.

  • Apple devices only

Pettify runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18 or later, on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later, and on Apple Vision Pro. There is no Android app and no web version, so a helper with an Android phone can’t get the reminders.

What it costs

The download is free, the app is not. Pettify runs on a Pettify Premium subscription: $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial first. There is no free tier. You can cancel anytime in your App Store settings. Prices are for the US App Store and may differ in your country.

Questions about medication reminders

What happens when two of us get the same reminder?

If the medicine is a task in the care plan, the first person to tick it off quiets the reminder on the other phones, and the others get a notification that it’s done. The activity feed shows who gave it.

Can it remind me about flea, tick and worming treatments?

Yes. A reminder can repeat weekly, monthly or yearly, and the care plan for your pet’s breed and age already includes parasite prevention tasks, each with its source. Which product to use and how often is a question for your vet.

Does Pettify tell me the right dose?

No. Pettify reminds you and records that a dose was given; the dose itself comes from your vet. The AI assistant gives general guidance and doesn’t diagnose or treat.

Can a pet sitter tick off doses while I’m away?

Yes, if the sitter uses an iPhone, iPad or Mac. Invite them by email or QR code and choose whether they can edit or only view. With edit access they can tick tasks off, and you get a notification when they do.

Can I show the vet what the pet has been getting?

Export a PDF report from your pet’s profile. It includes vaccinations, vet visits, health records, the care plan and recent activity, so the vet sees the whole picture.

Prefer paper?

Print the free medication log and pin it to the fridge. Everyone notes each dose: when, what and who gave it.
