Pettify for multi-pet homes

Two dogs and a cat don’t run on one schedule: different meals, different coats, different due dates. Pettify gives every pet its own care plan and records, then shows them in one pet list, so everyone at home can see what’s next for whom.

What multi-pet homes keep track of

Each pet gets its own version of these rules from the care plan’s sources. The point is how much they differ from one pet to the next.

  1. Meals, pet by pet

2 to 4 a day, depending on the pet

Most adult dogs need two meals a day (AKC). The AAFP favours frequent small meals for cats, so the plan gives an adult cat three and a kitten four. A puppy under four months gets three or four. In one kitchen, that adds up to several timetables.

  2. Litter boxes for the number of cats

    One per cat, plus one

With two cats, that means three boxes, each scooped daily: the AAHA and AAFP guidelines count one per cat and one extra. The plan puts the daily scoop on each cat’s list.

  3. Parasite prevention for everyone

Monthly, for each dog and cat

CAPC recommends year-round parasite control for dogs and cats alike, so each of them gets a monthly parasite prevention task, indoor cats included. Which product suits which pet is for your vet to say.

  4. Brushing by coat

Once a week to every day

A short-coated dog may need brushing once a week, a long-haired cat every day. The plan reads each pet’s breed and coat (Royal Kennel Club and Hill’s breed profiles, VCA for long and curly coats), so the brushing days don’t have to match.

  5. Check-ups that never line up

At least once a year, each pet

Every adult dog and cat needs at least a yearly check-up (AAHA; AAHA and AAFP for cats), and each has its own vaccination dates. With several pets, those dates spread across the whole year.

How Pettify helps

  • Pettify app - Pets list with a dog and a cat and the next task for each

    Every pet, and what’s next

The pet list shows the next thing for each pet: today’s care task, a vaccination due within a month or a vet visit this week. Overdue items are marked in red, so the one pet you forgot stands out.

  • Pettify app - Household screen with members and the Recent Activity feed

    Shared with everyone at home

Invite family by email or QR code and choose who can edit and who can only view. Everyone gets a notification when someone else logs care, and once a task is ticked off on one phone, its reminder stays quiet on the others, so the dog gets fed once, not twice.

  • Each pet’s own reminders

Vaccinations, vet visits, medications, feeding and grooming go in the calendar with reminders that fire once or repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. A vaccination with a next date gets its own reminders 7, 3 and 1 day before.

  • Siri asks which pet

Log a pee or a poop by voice: with several pets and no name, Siri asks “Which pet?”. Or press and hold the app icon for Pee and Poop for the two pets you logged most recently.

What Pettify doesn’t do

Better to know before you download:

  • Siri logs only your own pets

Siri and the quick actions on the icon log entries for pets you own. A pet someone else shares with you, even with edit access, is logged in the app.

  • It isn’t built for shelters or breeders

Pettify is a diary for the pets you live with. It has no tools for kennels, litters, adoptions or client billing.

  • It doesn’t decide what each pet needs medically

The plan follows published guidelines. Which vaccines and parasite products each pet gets is for your vet to decide.

  • No Android, no web

Everyone who joins needs an iPhone, iPad, Mac with Apple silicon or Apple Vision Pro. Family members with Android phones can’t.

Questions from multi-pet homes

Can dogs and cats share one account?

Yes. Pettify covers 88 dog and 50 cat breed profiles, mixed breeds included, and keeps each pet’s plan, diary and records apart in one pet list.

How do I see who is due for what?

Open the pet list. It shows the next thing for each pet, such as today’s task, a vaccination due within a month or a vet visit this week, and marks anything overdue in red.

Will two people feed the dog twice?

Not if you both use Pettify. Once a task is ticked off on one phone, its reminder stays quiet on the others, and they get a notification that someone logged it.

Can someone else look after just one of the pets?

Yes. You invite people to a pet and choose whether they can edit or only view. Pets that others share with you sit in their own section of the pet list.

Can I print one sheet for a sitter with all the pets?

Yes. Our free pet sitter instructions take one block per pet, with food, medicines and habits, and print as one document.

Is Pettify free?

The download is free, the app is not. Pettify runs on a Pettify Premium subscription: $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial first. There is no free tier. You can cancel anytime in your App Store settings. Prices are for the US App Store and may differ in your country.
